Culture Night 2018

Fingal County Council Arts Office is delighted to announce another very exciting programme of free events taking place in various locations in Fingal to celebrate Culture Night 2018. Culture Night is an annual national public event that celebrates culture, creativity and the arts. For one night only on Friday 21st September, arts and cultural organisations, churches, castles and historic houses in Fingal will extend their opening hours to the public, highlighting a variety of local talent and fantastic cultural facilities. Join us for music, theatre, exhibitions, films, tours and talks specifically programmed for Culture Night at participating venues.

Swords Castle, Draíocht Arts Centre, The Séamus Ennis Arts Centre, Ardgillan Castle, Malahide Castle & Gardens, Newbridge House & Gardens, Blanchardstown & Swords Library, Malahide Parish Centre and DIAS Dunsink Observatory will open their doors until late with free events, workshops, tours, talks & performances for you, your family and friends to explore and enjoy.

Additional venues taking part in Culture Night Fingal this year include Dublin Airport, the Millbank Theatre, Jordan Fine Arts and Skerries Mills. Get a detailed insight into the history of Dublin Airport and its leading role in the past, present and future of Irish aviation or for a unique perspective into contemporary Irish art check out Creative Journeys, a creative partnership between the National College of Art and Design and Dublin Airport which features the work of NCAD students, past and present. The Millbank Theatre presents the Irish amateur premier of Florian Zeller's play The Father, Jordan Fine Arts Gallery hosts a special group exhibition showcasing some of Fingal’s finest professional artists and Skerries Mills will provide guided tours of the historic mills, followed by a traditional music performance by young local musicians Inís Rua.
