Artist Studio Residency- July to December 2016 in Draiocht Blanchardstown
Draíocht Blanchardstown - Artist’s Studio – July to December 2016
Draíocht is seeking applications from Artists from or based in Fingal for a Studio Residency from July 4th to December 30th 2016. The purpose of the residency is primarily to provide time and space for an artist to develop their practice in a comfortable, practical and supportive environment.
Draíocht is committed to facilitating engagement between artist and the public and so on occasion, may request that the Artist meet same (e.g. school groups, workshop groups, visitors to the Arts Centre). These meetings would be requested in advance and facilitated by a member of Draíocht’s Staff.
This Residency consists of the use of Draiocht’s Visual Artist’s Studio for the period above rent free with an additional payment of €500. The Studio is integral to Draíocht’s infrastructure and the Residency is integral to our programme. As such, Artists are expected to make full-time use of the Space. If an artist is not in a position to use the Studio on a full-time basis, this should be made known to Draíocht at application stage outlining the proposed usage.
The Studio is available for use 10am to 6pm Monday to Saturday (except Bank Holidays). In addition to this, extended use is available when there are evening performances/workshops taking place.
What to include in your application?
To apply for the Residency, please forward a covering letter and up to date CV. A statement outlining how a Residency in Draíocht would benefit your practice at this point as well as an indication of how you plan to use the time/space would be helpful. You should also include between 8 and 16 good quality images of work. If sending by post, please mark the images clearly.
