Transcending Time is a new immersive mobile digital installation launching on June 8 for the Fingal community. This insightful new commission is presented by Fingal County Council Public Art Programme, part of the council’s new initiative ‘Let’s Stay Together’ - connecting people and ideas during Covid-19 pandemic.
Visual vanguard Aoife Dunne is the inventor of this new outdoor exhibition where she re-envisages materials which constitute the physical world seen in her bespoke designs and 3D creations. Fingal residents will get the opportunity to request the mobile digital artwork to exhibit outside their houses/area, by visiting www.transcendingtime.ie. Booking will be open from the 27th of May and the artist will plan a scheduled route based on location requests.
Starting from Monday 8 June, the Transcending Time installation will be out on the road conjuring the absurd and fantastic into a fully travelling wonderland. Fingal residents will be given the opportunity to request the installation to their house/hospital/community centre by contacting Aoife via her dedicated website below where she hopes to make Fingal citizens’ lives much brighter and more colourful by offering something new and special to see and talk about while they remain close to their homes. The artist has considered all health & safety guidelines during the development of this work.
Fingal Arts Office is committed to the local and national In this Together Campaign where departments across Fingal County Council are delivering a range of programmes and initiatives to support people’s physical and emotional wellbeing during Covid 19, while continuing to work on their objectives as set out in their recently published Arts Strategy 2019 – 2025: Connecting People and Ideas and Bringing Fingal to Life.
