Fingal County Council Municipal Art Collection

Fingal County Council boasts an impressive collection of contemporary artworks collected over a 25 year period. These works adorn our buildings, our foyers, our offices and are symbols of Fingal County Council’s forward thinking and positive image projected to both staff and visitors. We call the collection our Public Art Collection.  It comprises of artworks by national and international artists, graduates, emerging artists and local artists.

A selection of works from the collection were showcased in a special exhibition, ‘Not in Alphabetical Order’ at Farmleigh in 2008 and was accompanied by the first comprehensive catalogue of the collection. The title reflected the responsive way in which the art collection developed in Fingal; through a broad range of relationships, chance and supportive functions of Fingal County Council’s Arts Office.
In 2019, the collection celebrated its 25th anniversary with an exhibition, ‘Estuary’ in Draíocht. This anniversary exhibition was accompanied by ‘Not In Alphabetical Order’ Volume 2 highlighting this significant collection’s latest acquisitions.
