What is it?
A two-week summer camp (8 evenings total) for 15-18 year olds, focusing on song development, performance and recording.
What music styles will be covered?
Rap, spoken word and pop will be the focus, but the sessions will be led by your personal music interests, so all styles and musical backgrounds are welcome.
Do I need to have any specific musical experience to do this?
Absolutely not! This programme will suit anyone who is open to learning to write, perform and record a piece of music, no prior learning is required! Our Musician Educators will support you in a safe and non-judgemental creative environment, and you will have your very own track at the end of the 2 weeks.
What will I be doing?
Here are some of the things that will be covered:
• Lyric writing
• Vocal technique
• Brainstorming musical ideas
• Song writing advice and tips
• Finding your style
• Collaborating with instrumentation and voice
• How to record with Reaper software (the basics)
• Basic performance & recording with instruments
• Producing and mixing a track
On completion of the programme, you will receive a Music Generation Certificate and your very own music track.
When is it? Tues 26th-Fri 29th July and Tues 2nd-Fri 5th Aug 6pm-9pm each day.
Where? Castlemill Education Centre Balbriggan.
