Open Call for Fingal County Council and MART Studios Graduate Award 2025
Fingal County Council Arts Office in partnership with MART studios and gallery are pleased to announce the return of the graduate studio award for 2025. This opportunity aims to support the professional development of recent graduates from Fingal County Council with a fully funded studio space over 12 months beginning in January 2025. The closing date for submission is 1st December 2024.
Included in this award is a studio space for an individual artist at MART studios Harolds cross. Studio rental, utilities, and administrative costs will be covered to help provide the artist with the time and space to develop their practice as well as opportunities to engage with other creatives. The chosen recipient will also be awarded a €500 artists’ fee.
In addition, the graduate artist will join a group exhibition to showcase their work at MARTs annual exhibition award show in 2025. An artist fee, materials and technical fee and marketing support from MART will be provided as part of their annual awards show for the recipient.
This residency will be offered to one graduate. The opportunity is part of a series of initiatives by Fingal Arts Office to promote and support the professional practice of emerging artists. It will provide an ideal environment for the development of creative projects, development of a graduate's practice and an opportunity to network with other artists.
Fingal County Councils is based on an open submission for under and post graduate student who have graduated in 2023 or 2024. The graduate must currently live in, be originally from or have studied in Fingal. Active usage and engagement with the studio residency are required by the recipient. Applications from individual artists of any discipline is welcome.
Following the announcement of this annual award the mayor of Fingal, Cllr Brian McDonagh said “Fingal County Council and MART studios graduate award 2025 will provide an excellent opportunity for emerging artists to develop and refine their talents in an exceptional environment working alongside other artists.”

The previous recipient of the MART studios graduate award 2024 was Catherine Togher-Ward, an interdisciplinary Fingal-based artist who specialises in paint and expanded printmaking. Since receiving the Graduate Award in January 2024 Catherine Togher-Ward has been a resident in MART Studios as well as a recent member of Black Church Print Studio.
MART studios and gallery began in 2007 by Ciara Scanlan and Matthew Nevin. The aim to provide opportunities to creatives from all stages of their careers. Currently MART studios are one of the leading sustainable workspaces for the creative community in Dublin and Galway, with six studios facilitating multidisciplinary artistic work and over 150 members. These spaces promote the growth of artistic communities and engagement.
